University of Cambridge Museums and the Fitzwilliam Museum

About the Apprenticeship

Salary £14,699 - 18 month fixed term contract

The University of Cambridge Museums (UCM), and The Fitzwilliam Museum are offering a shared Events Apprenticeship within these two complementary cultural organisations. The apprenticeship will provide both practical and administrative experience with particular focus on the research, development and running of events. These will be both commercial and public events.

As part of the apprenticeship, completion of an Events Assistant Level 3 Certificate is necessary. The training for this award will be provided by the National College Creative Industries.

It is expected that 20% of time will be spent undertaking the relevant training to complete the apprenticeship. This is blended learning consisting of a mix of day release sessions and online distance learning, as well as on-the-job training, culminating in an End Point Assessment.

The role holder will be a natural team player with self-motivation, commitment and willingness to learn and to develop new skills and to assume responsibilities for a wide variety of sometimes complex issues. This apprenticeship is ideally suited for someone in the early stages of a career in events. Interest in and commitment to the work of museums and cultural organisations would be welcomed.
