Kettle’s Yard is the University of Cambridge’s modern and contemporary art gallery. Set in a beautiful house, it hosts a remarkable collection of modern art and regular contemporary art exhibitions.

Physical Access
Gallery, Shop and Learning Spaces: The galleries and learning spaces are all fully accessible, with a lift to all floors.
House: The House is partially accessible to wheelchair users. The upper part of the ground floor extension areas is always accessible, and a ramp is available to make the whole downstairs extension area accessible: please call in advance or ask at the information desk to arrange this. We regret that, due to the historic nature of the building, the rest of the House is not accessible to wheelchair users, and there is no lift. A virtual tour is available on the Kettle’s Yard website.
There are several sets of stairs in the House, including a spiral staircase. Please let a Visitor Assistant know if you would prefer not to use the spiral staircase and we can provide an alternative route around the House.
Café: The lower area of the café is accessible for wheelchair users. As this space is limited, wheelchair users and their party may reserve spaces at these tables. Call ahead or visit the information desk to book.
Visibility impairments
Large print versions of text in exhibitions are available. Please ask at the information desk.
Hearing impairments
Induction loops are available at the information desk and in event spaces.
Assistance dogs
are very welcome in all areas. Please call 01223 748100, email mail@kettlesyard.cam.ac.uk or speak to a Visitor Assistant at the information desk for further details.
Disabled parking
Park Street car park, an 8 minute walk from Kettle’s Yard, has 8 designated spaces for Blue Badge Holders which allow the first 3 hours of parking for free.
There is on-street parking on Pound Hill, 2 minutes’ walk away. There is level access to Kettle’s Yard from Pound Hill to the Castle Street entrance, but it is quite a narrow pavement and steep in parts.
