Join us in our Clore Learning Studio for free, practical art making workshops. Respond to the displays and exhibitions to make your own artworks. Get creative with artists and our education volunteers, no previous art experience needed!

Activities are for all but most suitable for children between 3 and 11 years. We like to encourage parents/carers to create alongside their child.

If Studio Sunday is busy, you can still get creative by picking up some of our free art activities from the desk.

FREE, drop in between 1-4pm

Visit the Museum of Zoology for fun hands-on activities, including making your own clay pot to take home plus trails exploring British wildlife. Handle real specimens, plan a nature diary, and find new ways to engage with and support local wildlife. Then add to our ‘Helping Nature Help Us’ installation, by adding your reflections and pledges to spend more time outdoors and protect our amazing natural world in preparation for Earth Day in April.

Suitable for children aged 2-5, must be accompanied. 

This led activity is 45 mins in duration. Two time slots available. 10.30am to 11.15am or 11.30am to 12.15pm

Go on safari around the Museum of Zoology looking for animals from all parts of the alphabet.

We'll be making paper puppets in our Discovery Room PLUS you'll be able to photograph your favourite animal and turn your photo into your own animal gift tag. Plus we'll be sharing some tips on how to have a more sustainable festive season. Why not combine this FREE activity day with some shopping in our Museum shop and lunch in the Whale Café! Suitable for families. 
Museum opens at 10am, activities start at 12 noon until 4pm. FREE, drop in.
