In this hands-on workshop, we will understand what an algorithm is and how important it is to write a correct algorithm in order to make a computer do a particular task. We will start by exploring algorithms that occur in our daily lives and then use this knowledge to teach a 30-year old BBC Micro computer to count!

This workshop is aimed at children aged 8 and over and is ideal for children at the upper KS2 level. This workshop has been developed to provide a gentle introduction to text-based programming for primary students. 

This challenge is a fun, interactive cyber-security exercise to teach you good online security behaviours through a variety of problem-solving tasks. The escape ‘room’ covers important topics, such as Phishing, Data leakage, Creating strong passwords, to name a few.

Can you crack the code and solve the case?

In this workshop, we will be using the Sonic Pi software package on the Raspberry Pi to create music.  What masterpiece will you create?

This workshop is ideal for those aged 8+, ideal for those at upper Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 level.

We will be using the Scratch programming language on a Raspberry Pi to control a Pibrella 'hat' that will sit on the Raspberry Pi. We will start by flashing the LEDs on the Pibrella and then continue to add a buzzer and a tripwire to create a basic intruder alarm!

The session is aimed at children aged 8-11 and is ideal for children at the upper Key Stage 2 level.

For participants under the age of 14, we require an accompanying adult to attend the workshop alongside them.

For this activity we'll be turning our classroom into an Electronics Lab. We'll have soldering stations set-up and our in-house electronics expert will help you assemble, solder and test your Electronic Dice kit ready to take home with you.

We'll provide all the components and tools you need. Just come along and enjoy the creativity of making your own electronic circuit. No electronics experience is required, although you will need a steady hand.

This is a lively and challenging workshop aimed at children aged 9+. 

Join us at the award-winning Ely Museum for a fun 'At The Circus' themed drop in day and make some great circus themed crafts to take home.
