These free events build upon our ‘Family Welcome Project’, a participatory research project with the North Cambridge Child and Family Centre.

The afternoon session, 1-2pm, is suitable for babies aged 0-18 months and their parents and carers.

Uncover stories of wildlife that may be living around us with stories and play. Hear about hungry hedgehogs and squabbling squirrels, and make your own hibernating hedgehog to take home with you.  

This expert-led session is suitable for children aged 2-5. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults and children under 1 year old do not need a ticket.

There are two sessions to choose from one at 10.30am and another at 11.30am. Both sessions are the same.

From the tiniest squeak to the biggest roar, discover animal sounds with stories and play.

What noise does a pig make? How about a chicken? Or a puffin? Go on an animal sound safari around the Museum and bring your voice to the specimens. Hear stories and make your own 'noisy' creature to take home with you.

This session is suitable for children aged 2-5. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults and children aged 1 year or under do not need a ticket.

Travel around the world in the Museum to find out how animals cope with the cold. Then settle down for some cosy stories and make your own hibernating hedgehog to take home with you.

This session will be based in Gallery 6 and have a Christmas Story Theme

Whether you're a first-time visitor or a regular at the museum, our festive drawing activity is the perfect way to explore the galleries through the lens of your imagination and artistic skills.

Artist Rose Feather has created a playful design for you to use as you sketch, doodle, and interpret the exhibits in your own unique way!

This free, printed activity is available to collect from the Founder's and Courtyard Entrances between 21st December and 5th January
