Activities are for all but most suitable for children between 3 and 11 years. We like to encourage parents/carers to create alongside their child.

If you would like to attend you will need to pre-book an entry slot. Each slot lasts for 30 minutes. Please book one ticket for your whole family.

Join us at the Polar Museum with renowned storyteller Marion Leeper to explore life under water, with a story from the far North about The Mended Seal.

17 stories, each one launched in a different place. Love Stories for the Earth will lure children away from screens and into nature, asking questions and having adventures.

Expect rocks and shells, an undersea palace, and a story about give and take between the people that row on the sea and the creatures that live underneath.

Pick up a special animal card on your way into the Garden this autumn to create your own artwork as you explore with your family. There are 6 cards to collect, each one featuring a different animal, along with facts and ideas for fun games and activities. A different animal will be at the ticket gates each week from Friday 10th September. During the school half-term week all six cards will be available. Can you collect them all?

No previous art experience is necessary just have fun!

Come and learn more about the warm chalky sea that covered East Anglia 90million years ago and the animals that lived in it. We’ll help you to ID the flint fossils that formed in the sea and you can take away a fossil ID sheet so you can continue your search for fossils when you get home.

This event will be held in a gazebo outside the Museum so please wear suitable clothing/sunscreen. The event is suitable for 5+years and because of small parts we can't accept younger children. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There are two sessions 10.30-11.30 and 14.30-15.30.

  • Join Helen from our learning team to make a door hanging inspired by the protective scarab beetle in our ancient Egyptian collection. Online via zoom. Free, but booking essential.

To join in the fun, simply pick up your free bingo sheet on your way into the Garden. Get hunting for different springtime sights and claim your prize at the end. The bingo includes lots of amazing springtime plants and animals, including the brightly coloured Brimstone butterfly, beautiful cherry blossoms and the elusive Purple Toothwort plant.

Entry tickets are limited, and must be purchased in advance of your visit.
