Join us for a workshop with Anna Taylor from Anna’s Flower Farmand learn how to make your own flower crown, the perfect accessory for a May Ball, festival, wedding or summer party.

Flowers have always been important to Kettle’s Yard. Jim Ede used to collect wild flowers from the Kettle’s Yard garden to arrange throughout the House, working in harmony with other natural objects and works of art like Christopher Wood’s Flowers, 1930David Jones’Flora in Calix Light, 1950 and Winifred Nicholson’s Cyclamen and Primula, 1923 (circa).

On Saturday, 15 June from 10.30–1.30pm, join us for a flower-filled morning using seasonal flowers to make a crown to take home with you. This half day workshop will teach you the floristry techniques you need to create a head piece decorated with flowers, foliage and other natural materials. The event will include tea, coffee and cake, an out-of-hours visit to the House, all materials and tools as well as great tips about how to condition and maintain your flowers. To end, enjoy a glass of prosecco or sparkling elderflower.

Be inspired by the use of flowers at Kettle’s Yard and choose your blooms from a selection all grown on Anna’s organic farm near Cambridge. Anna will help you to structure your crown for shape, variety and a comfortable fit in your preferred colour scheme.
