About the Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective
Tom Poster (piano) will be joined by Savitri Grier (violin), Juan-Miguel Hernandez (viola) and Laura van der Heijden (cello).
Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective was dreamed up in 2017 by Tom Poster and Elena Urioste, who met as fellow members of the BBC New Generation Artists Scheme. A flexible and shape-shifting ensemble, its primary aim is to bring wonderful musicians together to perform in new and varied combinations, but with a specific and ardent commitment to celebrating diversity of as many forms as possible – of nationality, skin colour, gender, orientation, age and social background.
Through creative and innovative programming, featuring great repertoire both familiar and unexpected, played with passionate commitment by a diverse and brilliant team, Kaleidoscope Chamber Collective hopes to inspire and educate younger generations (and older ones too!) in chamber music’s extraordinary power to bring people together, and ultimately to bring a bit of happiness and cohesion to our currently rather fractured-seeming world.
Recent and forthcoming highlights include festival appearances in Beaminster, Cheltenham and Oxford, a six-concert residency in Ischia, and a series of performances at Wigmore Hall.
