We are pleased to be partnering with Cambridge Film Festival and microcinema to bring a programme of artists’ films featuring new and historical, national and international work to Kettle’s Yard.
Join us for a screening of recent films by British artist Sarah Wood focussing on her recent envisaging of politicised landscape. The programme will centre on The Bravest Boat (Sarah Wood & Ali Smith, 2019), which celebrates the legacy of Margaret Tait’s time in post-war Italy and the origin of Tait’s filmic vision along with a short programme of films by Tait herself. About Sarah Wood
Sarah Wood is a British artist, filmmaker and curator. Often working with found footage and archival objects, her work interrogates the relationship between the narrating of history and individual memory and asks why preservation is made at certain historical moments.
Wood’s recent works include the films Boat People (2016), Azure (2016) and Memory of the Future (2018), and the book Civilisation and its Malcontents(2017) – an intervention into Freud. She is currently artist-in-residence in The Stanley Kubrick Archive, University of London.

microcinema is a key arm of the Cambridge Film Festival, showcasing a wide range of experimental, avant-garde and independent film both contemporary and historical.
This year’s microcinema will bring together artist filmmakers, writers and curators to present an innovative, interactive and interlinked programme of free screenings, talks, an installation and a round table discussion in venues across the city.
