This study day on 11 March begins with a guided tour around the exhibition Whistler & Nature with the art historian who conceived the show, Dr Patricia de Montfort from Glasgow University, and Prof. Clare A.P. Willsdon (also of Glasgow University), who contributed to the exhibition book. Followed by illustrated talks from experts, listed below.

The Study Day is chaired by Prof. David S. Ingram OBE, ScD, VMH, FRSE, former Regius Keeper (Director) of the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, former Master of St Catharine’s College in Cambridge, and now Honorary Professor in the Universities of Edinburgh and Lancaster.

Join Prof. John Parker, FLS, VMH, the Garden’s former Director, and an Emeritus Fellow of Clare Hall, Cambridge, to explore the history of the Garden and its links with Charles Darwin's mentor, John Stevens Henslow. The visit is free to Study Day attendees, but please note that places are limited to 30 people and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
