The Botanic Garden is a treasure trove of over 8,000 plant species, including nine National Collections and a wonderful arboretum.

Admission charges apply

Adult: £7.70

Adult with Gift Aid: £8.50
Includes an optional donation of 10% more than the Standard admission price. If you choose to make this donation and are a UK tax payer, we can claim Gift Aid on the whole amount – which creates a 25p donation to the Garden for every £1. Gift Aid is an easy, tax effective way for you to support CUBG. For more information about Gift Aid, please visit the UK Government Gift Aid information page.

Friend of CUBG: FREE On production of a valid Friends’ Membership Card.

Children 0 – 16 inclusive: FREE Must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Student at Cambridge University: FREE On production of a valid University Card.

Essential Carer for Disabled Visitor: FREE No admission charge is made for companions of disabled visitors without whose assistance the disabled visitor would be unable to gain access to the Garden.

Please note: There is no entry discount for alumni, Camcard holders or staff of Cambridge University.

Travel

The University's museums and Garden are within walking distance of each other. If travelling by car, we recommend using Park and Ride services

    Accessibility Information

    Physical Access:

    Brookside Gate is fitted with a low-level counter.

    Path surfaces are mostly gravel and there are large stretches of lawn with sloped paving ramps to allow access.

    There are benches at regular intervals around the Garden and wheelchair accessible picnic tables in most of the picnic areas.

    Electric scooters and manual wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge from both the Brookside and Station Road Gates. 

    There are accessible toilets behind the Glasshouses and at the Brookside Gate.

    Our buildings:

    The Café and Glasshouse Range are fitted with automatic doors. Please note the Glasshouse Range is a heritage feature with narrow paths and corridors. The Tropics House has some bark paths that are not suitable for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

    Acoustics:

    The Garden is quiet and peaceful, but it can get busy during the school holidays.

    Assistance dogs:

    Registered guide and assistance dogs are welcome in the Botanic Garden.

    Disabled parking:

    There is no public car park at the Garden. There is limited pay and display parking on nearby Trumpington Road and Bateman Street. See Cambridge City Council’s parking map for car park information.

    Taxi, car or minibus drop off can take place at Brookside Gate. Please note there is no easy place to park or drop off at the Station Road Gate.
