The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey are running a different theme each week of the Summer Holidays. The first of these is Archaeology Week, where visitors are invited to try their hand at being a mini archaeologist.

There will be an archaeological dig site set up for children to uncover treasures as well as craft activities themed around archaeology - including the opportunity to make your own fossil impressions from clay.

Craft activities are free, but donations to the museum are appreciated to cover the cost of materials.

Great St. Mary's church is full of animals, most of them carved on the end of their 19th century wooden pews. This is a chance to take a close look at those animals – real and imaginary – through first finding them on a treasure hunt. You can then learn more about them, and create your own. They will have a variety of art materials that you can create with, or maybe you’d like to explore through words and write a story or poem? You might even spot some animals in their stained glass windows.

This summer is the Season of Wellbeing at the Museum of Cambridge, and they’re making some noise to finish off a jam-packed summer of fun. Learn how to turn household rubbish into your very own musical instrument and join in a session of noise making mayhem. Take a tin can, decorate it however you want, then turn it into a drum which you will then use in a drumming circle like no other.
