Batik is a technique that uses wax and dye to create a pattern on cloth or paper. Discover the technique and process and explore mark-making, patterns and textures which can be achieved on papers and fabrics.

During this workshop you will:

  • Spend time discovering the artwork of Portia Zvavahera in the galleries.
  • Work with a professional artist in our Clore Learning Studio to develop your understanding of batik as a process.
  • Experiment with a range of materials and techniques to build your confidence and understanding.

This workshop would be suitable for beginners and improvers.

Lunch is not included. All materials, and tea and coffee, is included.
