Join us on the 7th February for a day of fun zine-making at the Museum of Zoology for anyone aged 16 and above.

A zine is a small magazine – it comes from the word “magazine”. They are usually independently published, low cost, and easy to distribute. They emerged about 100 years ago and gained popularity in the Riot Grrrl scene in the 90s, when girls and women came together to tackle the lack of women’s representation in the punk music scene.

At this workshop we’ll learn about and celebrate the 2026 International Day of Women and Girls in Science. We’ll take inspiration from the insect collections at the Museum of Zoology, the women collectors, and women entomologists to create zines. We’ll be using different crafting methods including collage, painting, drawing, and/or writing.

This workshop is taking place in the Learning Lab of the Museum of Zoology, from 11am – 3.30pm.

Lunch and snacks included. Age 16+

Tickets available in the New Year - check the What's On pages of the Museum of Zoology website. https://www.museum.zoo.cam.ac.uk/events/zine-workshop-celebrating-women-entomologists
