About Brodsky Quartet

Founded in 1972, the Brodsky Quartet has given more than 3,500 concerts worldwide and released over 70 recordings. Named after violinist Adolf Brodsky, the ensemble is based in the UK and performs across Europe, Asia, Australasia and the Americas.
Shostakovich’s music has a central place in the quartet’s repertoire. A complete cycle of his string quartets in London in 2012 led to ten years as Artistic Associate at Kings Place, concluding with performances of all fifteen quartets over two days.
The quartet’s recordings for Chandos include the complete Shostakovich cycle and works by Brahms, Elgar, Janáček and Debussy. Its recording of Beethoven’s late string quartets was released in 2020, while Homage to Bach features Paul Cassidy’s arrangements of Bach’s three solo violin sonatas.
To mark its 50th anniversary, the quartet released Schubert’s String Quintet with cellist Laura van der Heijden, Rocking Horse Road with Jacqui Dankworth, and Golden Oldies, a collection of encores arranged by the ensemble. Alongside its performing and recording career, the quartet is committed to music education.
The concert starts at 8pm. Doors open at 7.30pm.
