Join us for an evening of making art and exploring ideas, experiencing the Kettle’s Yard collection, Lucie Rie exhibition and playfully exploring ceramic practice through the theme of art & identity.

After introducing two new primary and secondary schools resources that explore Arts & Identity through both the Art & Design and PSHE curriculum, our focus on identity then shifts to the new exhibition, Lucie Rie: The Adventure of Pottery  whose emigration to London in 1938 marked a watershed moment in her life and work.

The evening includes a practical activity with ceramicist and creative producer, Lucy Wheeler, who will introduce coiling, hand building and mono-printing techniques to create buttons and small ceramic sculptures.

This CPD is for teachers, primary and secondary, keen to reconnect with Kettle’s Yard or learn more about our gallery and how we can tailor our learning programme for your classes. It’s an opportunity to get to know the Kettle’s Yard learning team and to meet other teachers from schools in the surrounding areas to chat, network and discuss all things arts education.
