Why not spend some time looking at all of the beautiful bird species that are on display in the Saffron Walden Museum? 

Then take inspiration from the incredible birds of paradise to make your own folded paper version, complete with plumes of curled tail feathers. 

Each session will be 30 minutes, starting at 10:30, 11:45, 12:30 and 2pm.

Professor Filbert is searching around the Botanic Garden because they have heard that humans have made some exciting discoveries about plants. Follow in the Professor’s pawprints and discover what incredible information they found.

Our annual open-air music festival from Cambridge Summer Music Festival will take place on Wednesday evenings throughout July on the Main Lawn.

Welcoming back some familiar performers as well as some new faces, this celebration of music and summer is a perfect opportunity to enjoy great music and the sights, sounds and scents in the Garden with family and friends on a July evening.

Come and find out all about worms, what they do, and how they do it! We will also create our own worm art for you to take home.

Free child tickets for this event must be booked online. Ticket sales open one week before the event.  Adults do not need to book to accompany however please note that adults will be required to pay for Garden entry on arrival.

Come and say hello to Saffron Walden Museum's famous lion, Wallace. 

Wallace was the star attraction in Wombwell's travelling menagerie in the early 1800's, and he still attracts visitors today. 

For this event, you will use Wallace as the inspiration for a fun craft activity, making roarsome lion bookmarks. 

Each session will be 30 minutes, starting at 10:30, 11:45, 12:30 and 2pm.

Best suited for children aged 4-12 years, younger children are welcome to join in with adult support.

A day of creativity where participants will explore the gallery and its collection while taking part in exciting hands-on activities. 

Throughout the day, participants will complete their own logbook to take home, and will receive an Arts Award Discover certificate around 4 weeks after the session.

This event is aimed at children aged 7-12.

Tickets are £15 per participant.

Participants must be accompanied by an adult. Limited places – online booking essential.

The three little pigs are moving to St Ives! 

Where will they choose to build their houses, will the wolf be able to blow them down? Join in with the story, told using The Norris Museum’s wonderful St Ives Story Mat. 

Make a set of tube pigs and a wolf to continue the play at home. 

Enjoy a range of other hands-on animal themed activities.

Aimed at children aged 3+ but everyone is welcome.
