About the Musicians

Sterling Elliot

Sterling Elliott is a 2021 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient and the winner of the Senior Division of the 2019 National Sphinx Competition. He is also proud to have been announced as a member of BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists 24-26. Sterling joined YCAT in 2023  as the YCAT–Music Masters Robey Artist.

He has appeared with major orchestras across the US such as the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Detroit Symphony and the Dallas Symphony

Sterling is pursuing an Artist Diploma at the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Joel Krosnick and Clara Kim, following completion of his Master of Music and undergraduate degrees at Juilliard. He is an ambassador of the Young Strings of America.

 

Gabriele Strata

Gabriele Strata is quickly establishing himself as one of the leading Italian pianists of his generation. In 2018 he won first prize at the XXXV Premio Venezia, the prestigious Italian competition where he was awarded the Plaque of the President of the Italian Republic and the Medal of the Italian Senate.

Gabriele regularly steps on the world’s most renowned stages, including concerto appearances with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at the Berliner Philharmonie, in London’s Barbican Centre and Cadogan Hall, Teatro la Fenice in Venice with Orchestra Teatro la Fenice, in Cardiff’s St David’s Hall with the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra, and in Mumbai’s National Centre for Performing Arts with Chamber Orchestra of India.

Gabriele received his Master of Music degree aged 19, as well as a Master of Musical Arts degree from Yale University under the guidance of Professor Boris Berman. He then obtained Artist Diplomas from the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia cum laude and special honors, and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tutelage of Benedetto Lupo and Ronan O’Hora respectively.
