This free drop-in event is recommended for ages 2-11 and there are a variety of activities spread across multiple galleries.
Join us and artists Kate Munro, Momoe i manu ae ala atea'e Tasker and Crystal Te Moananui- Squares (Ngāti Hako) to discover Tau o Mai | Journeys with Mai and learn about Mai’s incredible life and legacy.

Kite Making in Gallery 27
Inspired by the kites on display in the Octagon Gallery, created by Miriama Bono, an artist from artist collective SaVĀge Kʻlub, we invite you to make your own mini kite and think about journeys and places. Recommended ages 4 to 10.
Offerings for Mai in Gallery 7
Be part of this collaborative artwork by creating an offering for Mai to remind him of his home and loved ones.
Recommended ages 4 to 10.
Loose Parts Play in Gallery 3
Bring your baby or toddler to have fun playing with textures, colours, and sounds. Recommended ages 0 to 3.
Pop-Up Library in Gallery 28
A calmer space to enjoy books and stories snuggled up on a cushion. Suitable for all ages
Self-led activities at the Courtyard Entrance
Self-led drawing activities, story starters and loose parts play bags will be available to collect during opening hours from the Family Trolley, available in the main Courtyard area opposite the cafe benches throughout the October half term. Suitable for all ages
