This workshop will take place in the Clore Learning Studio and is open to people of all abilities, no previous experience of performance is needed.

About ‘The Cambridge Show’
‘The Cambridge Show’ brings together work by twenty-two artists who live or work in and around Cambridge. Showcasing a cross-section of the artistic community operating in the local area, from photography to performance, the exhibition will explore these artists’ diverse practices, and some of the themes and issues that they are engaging with right now.
About Sasha Pirogova
Sasha Pirogova (b. 1986, Moscow, lives in Cambridge) is an artist who works with video and performance. Her works are based on ‘philosophical exploration of a continuous flow of life’ and offer a sensual look at the interplay between the material and spiritual. Pirogova describes each work as ‘a specific energy exchange’ – by capturing her feelings and transmitting them to the viewer she aims to provide them with a positive, creative transformation.
Pirogova graduated from Moscow State University in 2010 having studied physics. From their she continued a long-standing interest in contemporary dance which shifted into visual art. She completed her education at Moscow Rodchenko Art School, Video and New Media Department in 2014. While studying Pirogova was awarded the Innovation Art Prize in the ‘New Generation’ category in 2014 and the Kandinsky Prize in the ‘Young Artist – Project of the Year’ category in 2017.
The artist’s works were presented at the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Moscow; Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow; Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Helsinki; Whitechapel Gallery, London, along with workshops at ImPulsTanz, Vienna and Tate Modern. In 2017 Sasha Pirogova represented Russia at the 57th Venice Biennale.
