Connecting Cambridge: Fenlands and Folklore
An interactive discussion hosted by Ruth McPhee (host of the Ruth is Stranger Than Fiction podcast), Rob Hales and Isaac Ayamba (Tensions of Belonging Co-Curators)
How does folklore give us insights into our local history?
Join Rob Hales and Ruth McPhee in conversation, exploring folklore and Fenlands history through the lens of Jesse Wine’s sculpture, AS I AM NOW ONE DAY WILL YE BE - a recent addition to our contemporary art collection. The work is inspired by a ghost story about a ‘Fen Slodger’ - someone who lived and worked in the Fens before they were drained.
How can these objects and the stories they allude to enhance our understanding of our environment and region today?
Free but booking essential.
