Schubert: Winterreise

About Milan Siljanov

A Samling Artist, Milan Siljanov studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (Opera Course) under the tutelage of Prof Rudolf Piernay. He is the winner of the prestigious Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation International Song Competition in London in 2015.

In 2014, he was awarded both the first prize and audience prize at the 50th International Vocal Competition in Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.

Milan was a finalist in the Guildhall School of Music & Drama “Gold Medal” 2015 and is the recipient of the Independent Opera Voice Fellowship. His studies have been generously supported by The Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers and the Independent Opera Voice Scholarship.

Recent operatic appearances include Leporello in Mozart’s Don Giovanni at the Verbier Festival Academy – where he was also awarded the Prix Yves Paternot for the most accomplished artist within the Academy, Collatinus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia (Guildhall School), Arlecchino in Wolf-Ferrari’s Le donne curiose (Guildhall School) and Figaro in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (Guildhall School, Opera Scenes).

Future appearances at the Bavarian State Opera include roles in La Bohème, Fidelio, Macbeth, Jenufa, Don Carlo, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata, Die Frau ohne Schatten and Ariadne auf Naxos.

Milan has recently started the Young Artist Programme at the Bayerisches Staatstheater München.
