The UK ash tree population is in rapid decline due to the fungal pathogen Hymenoscyphus fraxineus, more commonly referred to as Ash dieback, but there is another threat on the horizon – a small green shiny beetle.

Already established in North America, Canada and European Russia, the larvae of Emerald Ash Borer have been responsible for the loss of millions of ash trees at immense social and economic cost. Come and find out more about why it is so difficult to prevent spread of the beetle and what is being done to prepare for a potential invasion.
