Join us for a special Saturday workshop on 15 March led by artist James Tunnard, where we'll dive into the magic of colour and light.

As you may have heard, we’re creating a new art installation for the Learning Gallery ceiling and the activities in this workshop will inspire and contribute to this exciting piece!

Get creative with these hands-on activities:

  • Make Your Own Mini Telescope – Build and decorate your own telescope, then explore how lenses and light help us see the universe.
  • Make Your Own Colour Mobile – Design a dazzling, orbiting mobile using semi-mirrored and transparent materials. Watch as light transforms your creation into a dance of colours and shadows.
  • Whipple Drawing Challenge – Draw your favourite object, and your artwork could be part of the grand unveiling of our new Learning Gallery.

Sessions run 10am–12pm and 1pm–3pm
Free, drop-in! No booking required.

Whether you're a space enthusiast, budding scientist, or creative explorer, there’s something for everyone. Come along for a fun-filled, hands-on event!
