About Circular Cambridge and Repair Cafés

Circular Cambridge brings the circular economy alive for the residents  of Cambridgeshire. It celebrates progressive ways to design, manufacture, access, repair and reuse the things that we want and need in our lives.

One of the most popular elements of Circular Cambridge has been Repair Cafes. These community events match people who need stuff fixed with people who like fixing things. Items seen include printers, blunt knives, food mixers, torn jeans, faulty toys, broken tool handles, jewellery, books etc.

The Repair Café movement started in Amsterdam but is now global and  Cambridgeshire is blessed with a huge number of Cafés, with more starting up all the time. Local villages, towns and community groups  are being supported to start their own Repair Cafés with the help of  the Cambridgeshire Repair Café Network (CRCN). CRCN is a partnership between Cambridge Carbon Footprint, Transition Cambridge, South Cambridgeshire District Council and trailblazers Chris Moller of Cottenham Repair Café and Chris Lee of Royston Repair Café. Cambridgeshire Repair Cafés are supported by Mackays and Draper Tools.
